The Beginning
Born From a Love
of Food & Family
Chhay By The Lake started as a dream — to create a place where the community could gather, share great food, and feel at home. Owners Chhay and Lan have poured their hearts into building a cafe that reflects their heritage, their travels, and their love of bringing people together.
What began as a bakery has evolved into a warm lakeside cafe, with a menu that spans breakfast favourites, Vietnamese Banh Mi, burgers, Thai curries, stir fries, and fresh lunch plates — all made with care.
Nestled in Summerland Point on the northern shores of Lake Macquarie, the cafe has become a favourite stop for locals, families and visitors making their way around the lake.
